WHO WE ARE...

-----
About Shana Simmons Dance

Shana Simmons Dance is a nonprofit, Pittsburgh based dance organization which centers their immersive dance performances around a variety of topics with partnering and contemporary dance styles at its core expression. SSD aims to engage viewers into modern dance in new and innovative ways and relies heavily on partnerships and outreach to explore topics relevant to our community at large.

Simmons firmly believes in supporting artistic growth within its company members by encouraging development of their own voices and providing opportunities for outside choreographic voices to be heard. The company succeeds in this by offering choreographic opportunities, operating the majority of the main stage works through collaborative process, and presenting events such as Pittsburgh's only international dance film festival.
