NACHMO Pittsburgh is a choreographic initiative that has been running since 2018 (2025 will be the 7th year!) Connected to the national NACHMO headquarters, these events are meant to stimulate creativity, encourage different routes through the choreographic process, and provide platforms for creators to show their work.
Choreographers are challenged to create a NEW under-5 minute piece during the month of January with different choreographic prompts provided weekly. They can choose to be a part of the final presentation which includes a live, in-person audience as well as PANELIST FEEDBACK! Choreographers can choose whether they are wanting feedback or not, it's up to them!
We have high hopes of expanding what NACHMO can offer the Pittsburgh community into multiple off shoots and various different programs including creating for youth and a mentorship process for choreographers.
