Weekly prompts designed to help you construct and refine your piece will come from us, so make sure you’re following our social media as well! @nachmopgh

You will have the opportunity to present this new work at the final studio performance.
-All pieces must be under 5 minutes in length.
-Pieces can be in-person or via dance film format.
-Minimal tech/lighting is offered, this is a studio showing.
-Projection during live work is an option, however you will be responsible for managing your own projection/tech requirements.
-Please reach out with any questions, we would love to help you as much as we can to bring your Nachmo piece to life!

NACHMO Pittsburgh is a choreographic initiative that has been running since 2018 (2026 will be the 8th year!) Connected to the national NACHMO headquarters, these events are meant to stimulate creativity, encourage different routes through the choreographic process, and provide platforms for creators to show their work.
Choreographers are challenged to create a NEW under-5 minute piece during the month of January with different choreographic prompts provided weekly. They can choose to be a part of the final presentation which includes a live, in-person audience as well as PANELIST FEEDBACK! Choreographers can choose whether they are wanting feedback or not, it's up to them!
We have high hopes of expanding what NACHMO can offer the Pittsburgh community into multiple off shoots and various different programs including creating for youth and a mentorship process for choreographers.
