CURRENTLY SEEKING:
DANCERS FOR THE 2024 FALL PROJECT
About the role: SSD is seeking 1-3 contracted dancers for their 2024 project. Dancers will be compensated $15/hr for 2 weekly 2-3hr rehearsals + performance stipends. There is also the possibility of extra paid administration work pending artist's abilities and experiences. About the project: Shana Simmons (Shana Simmons Dance) and PJ Roduta (Else Collective) are presenting the first iteration of an extended project delving into community practices surrounding the fall harvest time in multiple European cultures. Focusing on the ideas of harvest, fire, the thinned veil, and the mystical time where communities celebrate and honor their ancestral non-living persons, this immersive experience takes the audience through falling leaves, the rhythms of the season, and the community experiences from ancient practices through dance and music. |
