CONSTRUCTED SIGHT: a series of dance for films blending public works of art and dance

We are seeking Guest Artists to present for our Constructed Sight: Winter series! These dance for films can have a wide variety of range expressing your artistic voice. We are seeking 5-6 guest artists to present their dance for films alongside the Constructed Sight project. All genders, ethnicities and experiences are encouraged to apply.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS SUNDAY, JANUARY 3, 2021, MIDNIGHT (EST).
Details for submission below...
-Dance for film can be ANY length, but we may ask for an excerpt given program run time. Ideal videos should be 5-10minutes in length.
-Check your music on YouTube prior to submission to see if it gets blocked. Music that "cannot be monetized" is fine. The video should not be blocked in the United States.
-You will need to film and submit a short introduction (1 minute or under) to your dance for film stating your name and any information you might want the audience to know. Was this an interesting process for you? Is this your first or tenth dance for film? If you want, tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind the work.
-Your dance for film should NOT feature a public work of art. It should be a separate concept from the Constructed Sight series.
-Please be sure the video is in accordance with YouTube standards and platform protocols. You can find the YouTube Community Guidelines HERE.

-Please rename your files by: "YOUR NAME_Intro" and "YOUR NAME_[Title of your piece]"

Option 2.) Upload your intro video + your dance for film video into one film on a Vimeo account. You may make this an Unlisted setting, but please make sure the video is toggled as "People May Download." Fill out the below form with the link to your video.

Videos will be chosen based on the theme, originality, quality of editing/filming, and production value.
That being said, we want to see any and all works!! Videos do NOT need to be shot on a professional high tech camera...some amazing pieces have come from Iphones alone. We encourage you to submit a piece!

Shana Simmons Dance (SSD) presents Constructed Sight, a dance for film series created as a direct response to Covid-19. Each round, three seasoned choreographers (Shana Simmons, Jamie Erin Murphy, and Brady Sanders) are develop three dance for films each, on site and inspired by nine public works of art around Pittsburgh. Each artist has been motivated to create new works due to the pandemic restrictions of interaction, rehearsal, and live performances. The dance for films premiere online for free via YouTube Premieres.
Each dance for film short runs between 3-7 minutes and features the work of art in innovative ways. For example, one film might be conceptually developed from the history of the art work and another might utilize the work as a supportive structure in which to create new movement from. Each choreographer has a different approach to the works of art and the process of creating dance
for film, which will be explained in an interactive dialogue prior to each piece. Audience can also chat with each other in live interaction while the Premiere is running.
Shana Simmons felt passionately that this platform should open up to works by guest artists, a diverse group of dancers who have recently created dance films.
